Wool stash!!

I really have to do something about my ever growing yarn stash....as in 'stop buying'.

I stash it in vintage sewing baskets,

the old family bassinette,

baskets all over the house,

old laundry baskets picked up from the trash

and we are not mentioning all those liquor boxes on top of the wardrobe  (  yarns  from the 1980s in these)

Oh,and there is my yarn cupboard at the cabin too.

Ravensdown

What' s this lurking in the bottom of my bag? Is it ketchup? hand cleaner?
A quick google told me it was sun tan lotion. I must have picked it up

at a lovely day out at the Dargaville Field Day last March.

Jitney service to the show from the parking lot.

If you want several tons of farm fertilizer

a $10.000 manure spreader or a milking machine

this was the place for you.

Look at those prices!

We managed to see some of the tractor pull.

" and now, ladies and gentlemen, lets give a big hand to Cody from Tutukaka. This is Cody's first  competition and we wish him well"

Cody must have been all of 11 years old!

Loved it!

Well planted

HEADS UP....lots of photos

Stepping away from textiles for a bit.

Last week we stayed with some very old friends at their new home  in Niagara on the Lake.

They have bought a house with a very well established shade garden.

I have to say its the most well designed garden I have come across.

Not large, and first planted about 1987.

.
Perfect for what may be their last home don't you think?

I would have liked to have made a collage of these pics, but I don't know how.
Another thing to work on.....sigh.

 Back to vintage textiles soon.

Dogwood

Not often you see a garden picture from me, but I have to say, our dogwood, at the end of our city garden is magnificent .  Due to all the rain we have had this year

Please,  dont ask us to take down the old tire swing, there would be a community riot if we did.
