Internet ups and downs

Ahh, the joys of the internet for an old dinosaur like me.
I have desperately been trying to get up on face book 'cos I was told I need to!! I put up a business page but don't know what to do with it.
Then I was told I need a profile page to lead folks to my business page....but that does not seem to work......and I don't really want the profile page anyway. Grrrr

Then bloody blogger keeps telling me I am not following any other blogs....NOT true.

Also, blogger has put me back on the old set up, just as I was getting used to the new one. Grrr.

But all is not lost....the new wedding category setup on etsy is sending lots of traffic my way, and I often notice one of my vintage wedding dresses featured , never looked at the wedding category before. There has been lots of moaning and groaning on the forums but it seems to help my other shop.

****Stop Press....just been invited to join an etsy wedding promotion team....Yikes!

A newish blog that will do very well The Etsy Detective featured this vintage souvenir scarf...Ellie has an image

Featured on this blog?that you can paste into your shop...but I couldn't do that either.
Shame it is not G&T time yet, I feel I need it.

  1. I can really relate to your dilemnas with new technology and I too am somewhat challenged when it comes to Facebook. I know I just need to spend time learning all these new tricks but I would just rather quilt!!! I always enjoy your blog so keep up the good work. Take care.

  2. I love the Wedding Registry on Etsy! It is wonderful! I wish they would also come up with a "Wish List" instead of just favorites. Perhaps I run over there and suggest that.

  3. Jan - I feel your pain. People go on and on about Facebook but I can't stand it. It draws you in - you spend hours on it - and for what? I know lots of people say it helps their sales but, do you know what, I don't care. I occasionally go on to answer a question or something but, other than that, I steer clear. Anyway, I don't remember the last time I looked at somebody's fan page or business page so I can't expect people to look at mine. As Frances said in the first comment - 'I would just rather quilt' or anything else actually.

  4. Oh Jan, I'm chuckling, sorry, shouldn't do so at your expense. But, you do have a knack of telling it how it is. Congratulations on the invitation, and try to stay calm. Have a G&T, it's 5.00 o'clock somewhere you know - there's a song that says so!!
