Thrifting and the garden

Out thrifting yesterday, not too much to report. Some OK scarves (as usual), fabric with sporting scenes, a quilt that I shall show you at the end of the week. But then a fantastic white mink full length maxi coat turned up! I had sworn never to buy another fur coat but this one was too good to pass up. I'm not sure how I am going to sell it, its very small, poss size 4. It has a Creeds label. This may not mean much to anyone but a Torontonian, but it was THE fancy, upmarket store untill the early 90s I believe. At that point I decided to call it a day.

This time of year we pick a bouquet from the garden every day.....glorious dahlias and asters. However I do not like these cactus dahlias, big as dinner plates and sometimes 7 feet tall. However, they are R's pride and joy and he is the gardener in our house.

my street, where I have lived a good many years.

  1. Hi FF! What a lovely, leafy street you live on. I'm with 'Him Indoors' on the blooms front - I do love a blousey dahlia. Nice photo too ;)

  3. Hey Jan
    Thank you for visiting GPB.
Once upon a time I had planned to die with the most fabric.
    But I'm fickle.
It's wool wool wool for me now.
All the way to the grave.

  4. Hi Jan,

thanks for stopping by my blog & leaving a comment. The Tawny Frogmouth nest is outside my work window...I don't have an actual office, more like half a dozen rooms I work in. On the other side of the building is a Currawong nest ... no sign of chicks there yet....just the mumma sitting
